About Emily

I’m interested in the mechanisms, ecology, and evolution of social behavior.

My postdoctoral research focuses on the mechanisms and evolution of aggression in songbirds, comparing multiple species and contexts for aggressive interactions. For my doctoral research, I studied wild baboon physiology, body size, and behavior with Susan Alberts and the Amboseli Baboon Research Project at Duke. I received my BA from Williams College, and between college and graduate school I worked in a clinical neuroscience lab and taught outdoor education.
